
Electrical Engineer (UNEXPO, 1995), Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (UNEXPO, 1998), and Doctor of Science (ISPJAE, 2002). Since graduating in 1995, she has worked as professor and research at UNEXPO. Since 1998, has been the coordinator of the master’s program in Electrical Engineering, and since 2005, a member of the Academic Committee for the Doctoral Program in Engineering Sciences at the same institution.
Accredited by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and University Education of Venezuela in the Highest Category (Level C Researcher) in the Energy field. Responsible and participates in technology transfer projects, research projects, and academic networks with funding.
Authored over 100 scientific articles, many published in top-ranked journals. Additionally, she has authored books and book chapters and presented research at various scientific events. Ranked first in the AD Scientific Index 2024 at UNEXPO.
Additionally, Raked in the first quartile for Venezuela and Latin America, and in the second quartile of researchers worldwide. Currently participates in the Research Project “Mobilizing Agenda: Nexus – Green and Digital Transition Pact for Transport, Logistics, and Mobility,” financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) of the European Union. Specifically, she is involved in WP8 – Decarbonization – Characterization of the Energy Matrix of the Port of Sines – focusing on decarbonization, transport, and energy for GHG emissions calculation.
Dr. Carmen Vasquez research interests include high-voltage electrical systems, atmospheric electrical discharges, climate change science, sustainable development, and carbon footprint analytics, focusing on decarbonization strategies for transport and energy sectors.
